CEO Sleepout is a national charity set up to inspire the business community to unite to fight homelessness; raising money for frontline services, helping to change lives.
Why CEO Sleepout Exists
CEO Sleepout brings business leaders together to make a stand against homelessness. We do this by holding CEO Sleepout events in cities the length of the UK, from Northumberland to Portsmouth and everywhere in between, raising funds that make a real difference to people facing homelessness in our host cities. To date, we’ve raised a phenomenal £3 Million pounds from over 4800 participants, and donated money to over 100 hard-working charities on the frontline of homelessness, changing countless lives.
Our mission
To use our events to raise money to fight homelessness and poverty, and to empower our network to speak up, speak out, and use their power to move the dial when it comes to inequalities evident in our society.
That means we encourage you, as business leaders, to embed social value in their business – not as a tick-box CSR exercise, but because it’s the RIGHT THING TO DO. Where we use compassion and understanding to inspire our audience towards creating social impact, they are also being moved by market forces who are demanding that corporate brands leave the world a better place than they found it. Our message and mission is to give them yet another reason to do so – based on human empathy.

How we use funds raised
The vast majority of funds raised at events is donated to charities on the frontline of homelessness and prevention of homelessness – so it directly changes people’s lives. CEO Sleepout UK is an extremely lean charity with only one full-time employee. We need funding to continue our national work. We use the funds we raise and retain in three ways:
- Bringing CEO Sleepout events to cities across the UK: running, promoting, and recruiting for events
- Campaigning independently for business leaders to use their power when it comes to creating social value, unlocking compassion and understanding around some of the bigger issues our society has created, inspiring the business leadership community to step into their power as change-agents, as part of the shift towards a more conscious brand of capitalism where businesses bake social impact into their purpose, strategy and everyday actions to strengthen the fabric of society.
- Discretionary grants to charities and causes who meet our criteria for homelessness prevention and deprivation.
