Henrik Muehle, Managing Director of Flemings Mayfair, will once again take part in the CEO Sleepout UK for his fifth consecutive year on the 24th November, spending a night outdoors on the cold hard concrete, with just a sleeping bag to keep him warm! All to raise vital funds and awareness for London’s homeless population.
The CEO Sleepout London brings together around a hundred of London’s business leaders, challenging them to experience the realities of just one night sleeping rough. The cold, the fear, the anxiety…
It’s an opportunity for leaders with influence to walk in the shoes of someone who has no alternative choice.
With an aim to unlock empathetic understanding while also raising essential funds for charities working on the frontline tackling poverty and homelessness across the country.
Small Act’s, Big Impacts
Since first participating in 2021, Henrik Muehle has already raised over £100,000 singlehandedly through his fundraising, surpassing the ambitious goal he set for 2025. A large amount of money that has created a significant impact already.
His funds are raised in support of Charity Begins at Home (CBAH), a frontline charity that relies entirely on donations. CBAH provides warm food, clothing, and essentials every week directly to people living on the streets, where Henrik serves as a trustee.
“The CEO Sleepout is about much more than fundraising. It is about seeing the realities of homelessness first-hand and understanding the challenges people face,” says Henrik Muehle. “Surpassing £100,000 is incredibly rewarding, but what drives me year after year is the opportunity to make a tangible difference and to inspire others to take action.”
Flemings Mayfair also demonstrates its commitment to the local community through weekly initiatives. The hotel’s chefs prepare over 60 fresh meals every Wednesday for families in need via a charity bike project led by CBAH, contributing to more than 14,000 meals donated over the past four and a half years.
“Being directly involved shows the real impact we can have,” Muehle continues. “Luxury and compassion can go hand in hand, and true leadership is about purpose as much as profit.”
