How can those of us practicing #ResponsibleBusiness help in this time of crisis?
Small biz owners, contractors and freelancers, those on low pay and zero-hours contracts are all vulnerable right now, and if we are in a position to help, we should do what we can.
Ask yourself if you could support other businesses, freelancers and contract workers. Could you for instance:
– Get your suppliers paid? This should be standard, but we all know it’s not always the case.
– If an event is cancelled, can you keep your contract and leave the money in? It could be make or break for caterers or small suppliers.
– Can you afford to tide your employee over with a sub until their benefit kicks in if they can’t work?
– What else could you do to make help people and their families get through this?
Losing out on income could lead to real difficulty and serious poverty. Let’s all pull together to show compassionate leadership and help others where we can.
Why? Because this is who we are!
