Get ready to dust off your sleeping bag and make a difference to local lives.
On the 20th November, Darlington’s most compassionate business leaders will come together, giving up their beds for one night to sleep out at The Northern Echo Arena, Mowden Park, raising funds for local people who have been pulled into homelessness. Join your fellow peers, and raise £500 for local charities.
"The best bit was meeting so many lovely people who are making an incredible difference to those who are ignored, blamed and dismissed. I was humbled by the sense of love and generosity from everyone involved."
"I feel even more strongly now about working towards ensuring that no one in Manchester has to be homeless or sleep rough."
"Now I always remember to stop and give 5 minutes of time over money so these people can be seen."
"I think my key takeaway is the whole concept of “it could happen to anyone” – homeless people shouldn’t be seen as “other”, they’re just us, if the dice had fallen slightly differently."
"I appreciate how mentally tough it must be knowing you have to repeat day after day. Providing warmth, food and shelter is only part of the issue. Getting people to feel safe, a sense of belonging and hope is just as important if not more."
