Emmanuel House – Meeting Immediate Needs, Supporting Long-Term Change
For people experiencing homelessness, daily life can quickly become about meeting basic needs finding food, staying warm, and accessing support where possible. For those with no recourse to public funds, these challenges can be even greater, with fewer options available.
Emmanuel House has been supporting people in Nottingham since 1976. From their day centre, they provide a place where individuals can access essential services in a safe and welcoming environment.
Their support starts with the basics showers, food, and clothing but goes much further. They offer guidance around housing and benefits, alongside support for both mental and physical health. Their outreach team also works with people in the community, helping sustain tenancies and providing ongoing support where it’s needed.
During the colder months, their Winter Shelter offers emergency accommodation, giving people a safe place to stay when conditions are at their worst. This short-term support can be a vital step towards longer-term stability.
Every person’s situation is different, and the challenges they face can be complex. Emmanuel House works across prevention, intervention, and recovery, supporting people at different stages of their journey and helping them move towards more secure housing.
