Who We Are
Caring in Bristol (Charity No. 1151645) is a cornerstone charity tackling homelessness in our city since 1987. Our mission is simple but vital: to prevent homelessness, support those at risk, and provide dignity and care to people already experiencing it. With over 500 volunteers, partners, and local supporters, we deliver life-changing projects spanning youth support, early prevention, affordable food clubs, and our renowned Caring at Christmas initiative.
In 2024 alone, we directly supported 1,243 individuals at risk of or experiencing homelessness.
How We Make a Difference
Bristol Goods: Affordable food clubs offering a weeks’ worth of groceries for just £3.50, reaching people on low incomes and at risk of homelessness while saving over 10 tons of food from waste.
Early Doors: A homelessness prevention service offering housing advice, training, and one-to-one support, empowering people to understand their rights and avoid homelessness.
Project Z & Z House: Tailored support and emergency accommodation for young people aged 16–25, giving them safe shelter, life skills, and a pathway to independence.
Caring at Christmas: Our week-long festive day centre brings warmth, hot meals, wellbeing services, and companionship to hundreds of people who would otherwise be left out in the cold.
The Impact of CEO Sleepout
Funds raised from the CEO Sleepout will directly power these essential services. Your support means:
More young people can find a safe bed at Z House, rather than unstable, unsuitable and often unsafe conditions.
More families can access affordable, nutritious food and cookery sessions through Bristol Goods.
More individuals can receive expert housing advice and prevent homelessness before crisis hits with our Early Doors Team.
More people experiencing isolation and loneliness at Christmas can find dignity and hope through Caring at Christmas.
Together, we can make Bristol a city where nobody is left behind.
