Supporting Young People to Build a Positive Future
For many young people, the path into adulthood is not always straightforward. Challenges such as homelessness, poverty or poor mental health can make it difficult to feel stable or plan for the future.
Through the work of Aberdeen Foyer, individuals are supported to move beyond those challenges and begin building a more secure and positive life.
Across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire, young people access support at different stages of their journey. Some need a safe place to stay. Others are looking for opportunities to learn, gain skills or move into employment.
Support is designed to reflect those different needs. Housing services provide stability, while education, employability and wellbeing programmes help individuals build confidence and develop practical skills for the future.
Progress takes time, and it rarely follows a straight line. For many, it involves overcoming setbacks, rebuilding self-belief and finding a sense of belonging within their community.
This is not a one-size-fits-all approach. It is support built around the individual helping people discover their potential and create their own path forward.
Through this work, young people are not only supported in the moment they are given the opportunity to build confidence, gain independence and shape a more positive future.
