Coffee4Craig – Support When the Day Ends
For people sleeping rough, the hardest hours often come at night. When most services close their doors, many are left with nowhere to go, facing isolation, cold, and uncertainty. In those moments, access to a safe space and a familiar face can make all the difference.
Coffee4Craig was founded in 2013 in response to personal loss, and has since become a vital source of support for people experiencing street homelessness in Manchester. Their work centres on being there when others aren’t, offering consistency, safety, and human connection.
Their evening drop-in runs seven nights a week, providing a welcoming space where people can come in, rest, and access basic support. Each night, dozens of individuals walk through the door, including many who are reaching out for help for the first time. The service meets immediate needs, but it also creates a point of trust, something many people have lost along the way.
Alongside this, their Relief & Recovery programme offers more focused daytime support. This includes help with housing applications, setting up bank accounts, and connecting people with specialist services such as addiction support. It’s practical, hands-on help that starts to remove some of the barriers people face when trying to move forward.
Life on the streets is often complex, and the route away from it can take time. Coffee4Craig works with individuals at different stages, offering support that reflects their situation and helping them take manageable steps towards stability.
