Single Homeless Project: Tackling the Causes, Not Just the Crisis
Homelessness is often the result of deeper, ongoing challenges. Without the right support, people can find themselves stuck in cycles that are difficult to break moving between temporary solutions without long-term stability.
The Single Homeless Project has been working across London for nearly five decades, focusing on the underlying causes of homelessness. Their aim is not only to respond to immediate needs, but to prevent it and support people in building more secure, independent lives.
Each year, they work with around 10,000 Londoners who are facing homelessness or at risk of it. Their support covers a wide range of needs, from housing and health to skills and personal development. By addressing multiple challenges at once, they help people make steady progress rather than short-term fixes.
No two experiences of homelessness are the same. Some people may need help finding accommodation, while others require support with mental health, substance use, or rebuilding daily routines. Single Homeless Project works alongside individuals to understand their situation and provide support that reflects their circumstances.
Moving out of homelessness takes time and consistency. With the right support in place, people can begin to rebuild confidence, regain control, and move towards a more stable future.
Through CEO Sleepout, they are able to continue this work, reaching more people across the capital and helping create lasting change beyond the immediate crisis.
