The Leicester Tigers Foundation (LTF) utilises the power and expertise within the Leicester Tigers Rugby Club to make a positive difference to the lives of thousands of individuals and groups annually.
Our charity is dedicated to raising the standards of education, improving health and promoting amateur sports through health-focused recreation.
With an ever-increasing footprint, the Foundation, through its multiple free/affordable delivery programmes, is offering extensive support to the most vulnerable families and individuals, thanks to the overwhelming support from its patrons and the Tigers fanbase
Sam Swift, CEO, Leicester Tigers Foundation:
“I have been connected to the Leicester Tigers all my life, as a fan, who was lucking enough to start a career in 2013 as their Education Officer. Some 11 years on, having overseen the inception of the Leicester Tigers Foundation, I am now the proud leader of this wonderful charity, as its first Chief Executive Officer. In April 2023, the Foundation hosted our first ever CEO Sleepout, at the world famous Mattioli Woods Welford Road Stadium and are excited to be doing the same again in 2024. The first edition raised an amazing £35,000 split between ourselves and other local charities, passionate about supporting measures to tackle homelessness.”
The monies raised from the last sleepout, have directly funded our education programmes, which support some of the most vulnerable young people in Leicestershire. Our students face many barriers, including poverty, health deprivation and low income, as well as disabilities and back ground challenges. Statistically all of these barriers, are in direct relation to increased chances of being homeless. We hope that our inspirational, sessions will focus our students and direct them onto more positive pathways.
