At The Bus Shelter MK, we provide a temporary home and one-to-one support for people who were previously sleeping on the streets of Milton Keynes.  Originally based on a converted double decker bus (hence the name), the charity now provides 21 beds across the city. We have provided accommodation for over 250 people since opening in 2018 and advised hundreds more.

The route into homelessness is different for everyone; our trauma informed support team enables guests to find their way back to a home and a normal life, something which may seem an impossible dream when they first arrive.  Whatever the barriers to resolving their homelessness –  poor physical or mental health, no ID or bank account, lack of benefits, debt, no secure employment – our team will do what is needed to find solutions with professionalism and a caring approach.  Changing lives one person at a time!
