The Bridge (East Midlands) has been preventing and relieving homelessness across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland, for 30 years. Through our free, non-judgmental services, we support individuals and families facing or experiencing homelessness – because everybody deserves a safe, secure home.

Here at The Bridge (East Midlands), we are proud of the impact we have on the lives and futures of local people. At the heart of what we do is a desire for meaningful change, listening to each individual to understand the root causes of their housing crisis, and empowering them to overcome obstacles and achieve long-term stability. 

For example, last year we received 5632 referrals – 95% of whom said their housing conditions improved, and 88% said their homelessness was completely prevented or resolved! But it doesn’t just end there: our holistic support means that 97% of our clients feel improvements in mental, physical and financial wellbeing. In fact, 75% said they’d reduced anti-social behaviour, 67% had reduced substance use, while over 94% felt they were making positive life choices and felt more independent! 

And, as the cost-of-living crisis compounds with a lack of affordable, accessible housing, more households are thrust towards homelessness. Shockingly, from April to September last year, we received an enormous 10,000 phone calls. 

That’s why the impact of the CEO Sleepout is so important to us. Truthfully, to meet the rising demand of local people in need of support, we need your help! Each donation made to us directly helps local people by ensuring our support and advice services are there, ready to help when needed. The event is so powerful in raising awareness: offering firsthand the humbling experience of the terrifying reality that so many people are facing… Another night without a home. We appreciate the opportunity to give a voice to the journeys of our clients.
