Home-Start Teesside is a local charity dedicated to supporting families with young children facing
challenges such as poverty, social isolation, mental health difficulties, and domestic abuse.
Through our network of trained volunteers and family support workers, we provide practical and
emotional support to help parents build confidence, strengthen relationships, and create stable,
nurturing homes for their children. Covering Middlesbrough, Stockton, and Redcar & Cleveland,
we work in some of the most deprived areas in the country, ensuring families receive the help they
need, when they need it most.
By taking part in the CEO Sleepout Middlesbrough, the Home-Start Teesside staff team is helping
to raise awareness of the struggles our families face while increasing the charity’s visibility. This
event provides a crucial fundraising opportunity, generating much-needed funds through
sponsorships and donations. These funds will go directly towards expanding our services, training
volunteers, and providing essential resources for families in crisis. Additionally, the sleepout
strengthens our connections with business leaders, charities, and community organizations,
opening doors for future partnerships and funding. It also reinforces our mission by demonstrating
our commitment to tackling poverty and social isolation, while fostering team morale and a
deeper understanding of the challenges our families experience.
Every pound raised will directly impact the families we support, allowing us to continue delivering
vital home-visiting support and crisis intervention. Giving children the best possible start in life
shapes their emotional and physical well-being, ensuring they have brighter futures. Parents are
the most influential figures in a child’s life, yet many are struggling with poor housing, debt, food
poverty, illness, bereavement, asylum-seeking, and domestic abuse. These pressures deeply affect
the critical early years of a child’s brain development, setting the foundation for their future.
Everything starts at home—speech and language, early education, a love of reading, making
healthy choices around food and exercise, and building positive relationships. We work to break
cycles of disadvantage in Teesside, ensuring children grow up in nurturing environments that
support their development and aspirations. Currently, Teesside ranks among the lowest in the
country for health, social, and economic indicators, and we are committed to changing this by
empowering families with the support they need.
Together, we can ensure every child in Teesside has the best possible start in life. Thank you for
supporting Home-Start Teesside and helping us make a lasting difference.
